LEPSYS.eu was founded in April, 2006 as a consequence of an ESF Exploratory Workshop, and the participants of the workshop gave Niklas Wahlberg the mandate to form the first Executive Committee of the consortium. The Executive Committee consists of four people plus the chairperson, and should represent the expertise of European Lepidoptera Systematists.
